If being a part of the LGBTQ community is prohibited in some nations, hackers may threaten VPN users who want to access LGBTQ-friendly sites.’ The research group at vpnMentor provides an example of the possible consequences of this data leak.

According to vpnMentor, the disclosed data included numerous VPN users’ email addresses, hashed passwords, full names of users, names of countries, passwords created at random, payment information, validity duration, and premium status. In addition, the exposed database contained 10 GB of sensitive information of approximately 21 million people who used VPN solutions.
